Luis Alberto Urrea

I'm one of those readers who really needs to know about the author that he or she is reading. The link I posted is a talk that Urrea gave about his experiences writing about the Border and about his past, living in Tijuana and San Diego. He's a great storyteller and actually quite funny. I think this provides a good context of what motivated him to write The Devil's Highway as well as many great anecdotes.

It was great to get together with you all for the first time! We covered an overview of what to expect, history of Borderlinks, watched half of crossing Arizona, and had basic introductions. The question posed in the orientation was: What would you like to get out of the Humanigration experience?
